2 months 'til ONE!

That's right...our little bundle of joy celebrated her 10 month birthday yesterday!  Time has flown so fast that I even forgot to take her picture before MDO yesterday morning...so Daddy picked up the slack and snapped a few pics of her yesterday evening after I left for work!  MG was a little cranky all day yesterday and has been battling a runny nose for the past few days...so a smile was hard to come by yesterday!
Fingers in her mouth...where are her teeth??

10 month highlights:
-wearing 9-12 mo clothes
-size 3 diapers (MG is 21.5 lbs!)
-STILL NO TEETH!!!!
-crawling very very fast EVERYWHERE!
-pulling up on everything...she will stand by herself but will not take a step
-loves mac and cheese, grilled cheese and pudding
-likes to shake and bang all of her toys together
-has started to enjoy DVDs (Praise Baby and Elmo2 are her favorites right now!)
-takes a morning and night time bottle and milk/juice in a sippy cup during the day
-USUALLY takes 2 naps (each about 2 hours)

You are the love of our life Mary Grayson and we are excited everyday to see you become the woman God wants you to be!  We love you to the moon and back!

No More Curls!

As the title suggests...Mary Grayson got her FIRST haircut yesterday! After much deliberation I decided it was time for the uneven ends and fly-aways to go!  After a long morning nap we went to Snip-Its at The Woodlands Mall for a much needed new "do"!  Trying to get out of the house with a baby on my hip, my purse, MG's diaper bag, the video camera, snacks and a bottle for the drive, and my cell phone...I forgot my real camera!  So my handy Iphone had to capture the moment.  Here is a before shot...
Enjoying an animal cracker. Doing so good!
And then came the melt down...

I had never heard the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" sung that way...but whatever...she stopped crying!  She wasn't too sure about a comb being used on her hair because I always use a baby brush and she really didn't care for the squirt bottle approach to getting her hair wet...we prefer using a cup in the bathtub!  Overall I think she did great for her first time and I can only hope each haircut will get better!   As for now, we love our little bob! She even got a prize from the barber...a slinky!! She loved it!  Then we went to the food court for a sugar cookie! Here are a few after shots...
Eating her sugar cookie!
Sporting her new little bob...so tired and ready for a nap!
No more curls!!!

Special Visitors

What a busy week!!!! Mary Grayson did great at her first day at MDO on Thursday!  Her report sheet said she liked meeting a new friend, ate all her grilled cheese and slept for an hour and a half!

MG with her MDO teacher Mrs. Dottie!
Friday was pretty uneventful! Saturday was full of college football, complete with a pizza picnic on the living room floor!  Sunday was NFL day at church! Mary Grayson enjoyed wearing her football outfit! We spent the afternoon watching the Texas beat the Colts and then picking up Grandma and Grandpa Waggoner at the airport!

Overall it was a great visit and Mary Grayson loved seeing her grandparents and great grandparents!  She loved untying Grandpa Waggoner's shoes and she was happy to be held all the time!  We hope they have a safe and fun trip to Alaska!

Goodbye Summer...Hello Fall!

Today was our family's last official day of summer vacation!  Mary Grayson will begin attending MDO again tomorrow!  Yay!  We were so pleased with our church's program this summer.  MG really seemed to enjoy going and we are looking forward to starting our daily routine again in the morning!  Maybe we will get on some sort of weekly schedule at some point this fall!
Chillin' in my new shades!
In my outfit mommy made me!

Ready for a wagon ride!
The weather here in Houston has drastically changed since I last blogged.  It finally feels like fall...my favorite time of year! We even sat outside this morning to have our coffee and for MG to have her morning bottle! It was so nice to start the morning off together...all three of us!!  Here are a few pics from our summer...

On a side note: Thanks to everyone who prayed for me and my decision to cut back at the hospital to try my hand at teaching tennis!  Marvin and I pray diligently for the Lord to guide each and every decision we make, and what looked like a door for opportunity was suddenly closed, in this case.  However, there are many more doors to be opened...we just have to discover them!  As for now, I am working at two hospitals part-time and enjoying every other minute with my incredible husband and sweet baby girl!  I know life is full of ups and downs and I know my God would never put me in a situation He felt I couldn't handle! This is just another season of our life and I am thoroughly looking forward to exploring what God has in store for us!!Happy school year everyone!!!
