7 Months

What a day it has been for our now 7 MONTH old!!! As I am writing she is snuggled in her bed and has been for the past hour (since7:30pm).  She did not nap all day long!!! Hopefully, she will make it through the night.  I'm sure she is exhausted from our busy day.
We began the day with our usual monthly picture, which is getting harder and harder by the way!  Notice the wrinkled sign.  It had already made its way to MG's mouth before we even sat down to take the photo! Then we were off to the Astro's game against the Tampa Bay Rays!  Marvin and I really enjoy going when we can find the time. So...we were really looking forward to taking Mary Grayson.  Uncle Marcus and Aunt Kelly even gave MG an outfit for her first game! I must say she was the cutest fan there. We got there early hoping to use Mary Grayson to get some autographs, which we did!!!
Our family at MG's first Astro's game.
Close up!
Then we started the search for lunch!  I had brought MG some food but she ended up eating most of Lovie's baked potato and spent the rest of lunch reaching for my french fries!
Loving Lovie's potato.
Watching Bud sign a ball!
Mr. Bud sure liked MG!
Smile!
So one of the Astro's pitchers, Bud Norris, really took to our Mary Grayson!  He scooped her right out of my arms and posed with her for us!  He kept saying how cute she was!(which we already knew, but still like to hear!) Needless to say...MG did great at her first game but couldn't help the 'stros pull it out.  They lost 14-10.  It was a great, LONG (4 hour) game with lots of hits. We will definitely be going back.  I think we may have a true Astro's fan on our hands!
As for MG at 7 months...here are the highlights!

-18 1/2 pounds
- two trips to the ER (pink eye & croup)
-rolling over from tummy to back & back to tummy
-STILL NO TEETH & STILL DROOLING!!!!
-in a new car seat (we got it today!) Hopefully she will like it!
-started Mother's Day Out
-sweet sweet smiles and laughs
-getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth!!! I see crawling in her near future!

Again we are so blessed by Mary Grayson.  She is really beginning to be a hoot to be around.  She likes things the way she likes them! (I guess that's a lady for ya!!) She has us constantly on our toes and we love it!We couldn't ask for anything more.

Girly Girls!

Trying out our new sunglasses!
Lately, Mary Grayson has really started to show signs of being a true girly girl!!! She loves loves loves the camera and will quickly flash a smile when you pull it out.  I have recently started a summer Bible Study at our church called "5 Conversations You MUST Have With Your Daughter."  So far it has been really enlightening.  The second conversation discusses not pushing your daughter to grow up too fast.  Marvin and I will be very careful to let our little one be a little girl for as long as we can! We are enjoying her too much to let her grow up!
Tuesday morning before MDO.
Posing for the camera.
A few weeks ago at a children's sale I found MG a "My First Beauty Kit."  In it was a stuffed pretend lipstick, blow dryer, hair spray, make-up compact, and nail polish.  It has become one of her most favorite toys.  So...this morning I sat down on the floor with her to put on my make up and she grabbed her kit and started putting on her lipstick too!  Marvin thought it was funny and grabbed the camera!
Watching Mommy put on her make up!

She liked my blush!
We are enjoying our little miracle more and more every day. It's hard to believe in two short days she will be 7 months old!!! We remind her everyday that Jesus loves her! (And mommy and daddy do too!)

A Different Kind of Father's Day

I had every intention of making Marvin's first Father's Day one to remember.  However, MG added a little kink in our plans.  Let me explain...
The night before Father's Day was an ordinary one in our house.  We spent the afternoon playing in the yard with Grammy, Paw-Paw, Brandon and Carson.  Grammy and Paw Paw watched Mary Grayson while Marvin and I went out on a well-needed date! Once we got home MG had a bath and her night bottle and went right to sleep.  Marvin left for work around 10:30pm and I went to bed.  At 11:15pm I heard MG coughing over the monitor.  I went in to check on her and turned on her humidifier.  She didn't feel warm to me, so I went back to bed.  I kept the video monitor on in our room and watched her for then next few minutes until I heard her coughing again and struggling to catch her breath.  I ran into her room and picked her up.  Her little body was on fire! I quickly took her temperature and it read 102.9.  I called the Doctor and his nurse advised me to take her to the emergency room.  SO....to the emergency room we went.  Grammy came with us.  I snapped this quick picture of MG on the stretcher about to fall asleep.

Sleeping in the ER :(
After a dose of Motrin, a chest x-ray, a breathing treatment, a dose of steroids, an attempt at a catheter, and a urinalysis...we were sent home on antibiotics and steroids.  Mary Grayson was feeling much better at 3am when we finally went home.  She went right to sleep in her own little bed. She woke up at 7am and we made coffee and blueberry muffins for Daddy and then she went right back to sleep. I sat out all Marvin's Father's Day presents and served him his coffee in his new Texans coffee mug!  Mary Grayson gave Marvin a Texans travel pillow and blanket and a voucher for 2 people to play a round of golf at a nearby golf resort! Marvin and Mary Grayson slept most of the morning and I went to pick up MG's prescriptions.  We had planned on going out to eat with Marvin's parents and brother's family, but those plans quickly changed when MG got sick.  So...we had a lovely afternoon lunch thanks to Popeye's Chicken!  We slept most of the day and spent the afternoon next door helping the neighbors assemble their new above ground pool!  MG was feeling much better at that point and enjoyed a cool treat outside.
Enjoying a popsicle by the new pool.
The cousins playing Lego's after a swim.

Overall I think Marvin had a good day.  Mary Grayson and I love him so much and are so glad he is in our life.  Marvin is a wonderful Daddy.  I know he and MG will have such a special relationship when she gets old enough to really enjoy his company.  It melts my heart every time Marvin comes into a room and Mary Grayson sports an open-mouthed smile!  We have been told everywhere we take MG how much she looks like her Daddy and I think these pictures will do nothing but confirm our findings!  She is a Daddy's Girl!
Happy Father's Day Daddy!

Feeling much better and loving on her Daddy!

First Day of "School"

Today was a bittersweet day in the Waggoner house!  Mary Grayson started Mother's Day Out today.  She will go every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-2:30 for the whole summer!  Because Marvin and I both work nights right now, I've been looking forward to today for some time because it will give us a few hours of uninterrupted sleep.  However, when today finally arrived it was a little harder than expected. I forgot MG's "gummie" (blankie) for her to nap with and I forgot to tell her teacher that she takes naps on her belly and not her back!  I cried the whole way home!  This was the longest she has ever been away from us during the day!  She does have lots of sleep overs with friends and relatives while Marvin and I work, but this was the first organized "school-like" experience for us and for her!  She is in the baby "Peaches" class and her teachers are Mrs. Dotty and Ms. Amanda! She has six girls and two boys in her class.  I know she was in great hands all day and was getting wonderful Biblical instruction from the ladies at the church.  Needless to say, I couldn't wait to pick her up and hear about her day! Mrs. Dotty said she acted like she had been there her whole life!  Her daily news sheet said she liked reading books and was cheerful, attentive, and energetic!  She ate well and napped for and hour!  I was impressed!  Here are a few pictures to mark our first day of school...

So excited!!!

Jumping!

MG has found her legs and discovered she can jump!  We have had her "Jenny Jump Up" for a while now and we've been anxiously waiting for her to get strong enough to play in it!  While Marvin was home with her, he tried it out and...we have a jumper!! She loved it!  Take a look!

I don't like the QUIET!!

I finally have a "quiet" second to blog and I really don't have anything specific to blog about!  As I'm writing this Sunday afternoon, my daughter is napping "quietly" in her room and my sweet husband in sleeping in our room (Marvin worked last night!)
My little angel napping.  One foot under the covers and one foot out...just like her Mommy!
I'm sitting on the couch with a Lifetime movie on in the background as I type and a book I am reading on my right.  The laundry is folded, dinner is defrosting in the sink, MG's bottle is ready for when she awakens, my house is surprisingly clean, and I have come to the conclusion that I don't like the "quiet!" My life has really taken shape since I've become a mother, although I really don't feel like one yet.  I keep telling myself that maybe I'll feel like a mom when Mary Grayson starts calling me "Mommy" or when she prefers me to hold/be with her over others.  She has done neither.
For those of you who know me really well...I'd definitely consider myself to have a Type A personality.  I am the first born, very organized, very outspoken, opinionated and overall neat freak!  But since November of last year, I'd like to think the Lord has molded me into the woman he always wanted me to be.  I'm enjoying my messy house, the lack of organization of my crazy work schedule, the sound of my little girl yelling at the top of her lungs just because she's excited, and the chaos of life.  If anyone would have asked me if i would enjoy those things six months ago, I would have laughed in their face.  Not me, I'm Type A...I don't enjoy mess and chaos!  Oh...but I do!!! I'm relishing in the job of being a mother.  A wise lady once told me that if she sees a neatly put together home with no toys on the floor, no laundry on the couch and no mess...someone was being neglected.  She was right.  No one is being neglected at this house.  Maybe the purpose of this post is to say simply say that I'm happy, content with life, and thoroughly enjoying motherhood!  And the quiet is over!!! Yay!  MG is all smiles when she wakes up from her nap!  I can't wait to see her little face! And the chaos continues and I love it!
How can you resist this cute smiling face!!

Start of Summer

First off let me just tell you guys how unbelievably HOT it is here!!! The past three days it has gotten over 100 degree here in Texas!  What a nice start to the summer, right?  The crazy hot weather calls for snow cones....and we quickly discovered MG LOVES LOVES LOVES them!  (Bubblegum ones seem to be her favorite!)
Yummy!

Now I need a bath!
Brandon, my five year old, nephew graduated from Pre-K this week.  We attended his graduation!  What a cute little graduate he made!  MG enjoyed the ceremony too!  I have to say I got a little teary thinking MG will be a little Pre-K graduate in five short years.  The time has flown so fast!  We are trying to soak up all of the baby time we can.  Here is a rare shot of all three cousins together.  I think it perfectly describes their unique personalities to a "T"!!!
MG admiring Brandon, Brandon posing, and Carson not interested!! What a trio!

Daddy and MG at Brandon's Graduation

Not so sure about Mommy taking my picture!
Because of all the heat we've been trying to get MG used to the water in any way we can.  We've been to the neighborhood pool several times and played with blow-up water toys in the yard.  She's had a blast.  Not to mention she looks awfully cute in all of her many swim suits!
Blow-up toys outside.

This was my Mommy's yellow bikini when she was a little girl.

On our way to the neighborhood pool.  I love this one!! She was so excited.
