MG's First Halloween

I have to say Mary Grayson's first Halloween was a huge success!!  Not only did she have TWO, yes two, different costumes, but she won the cutest costume at her Little Gym Halloween party!  She went to two different pumpkin patches, posed with the pumpkins her Mommy and Daddy carved, and even got to eat just a few pieces of candy.

All smiles at the Pumpkin Patch

Old MacDonald's Farm

Ever since we moved to the Humble/Kingwood area Marvin and I have wanted to go to Old MacDonald's Farm!  It just looked like so much fun, but never really had an excuse to go until MG arrived!  Here are a few pics from our trip!
Looking at the baby goats...from a distance!
MG and Mommy
The animals would come up and eat out of your hands...or MG's lap!
She got to pick out a pumpkin to take home!

With her pumpkin and ready to go home for a nap!
I think Mary Grayson had a great time!  She loved watching all the animals and all the other kids running around!  She was asleep before we got home and took at 2.5 hour nap to recover from our busy morning at the farm!!!

MG's 1st Trip to the Zoo

We've been talking to MG a lot lately about animals!  She loves this one particular book that makes baby animal sounds when she presses each animal's picture.  So...we decided it was time for her to see the animals up close...at the Houston zoo!  Since we've been in Texas, neither Marvin or I have been to the zoo.  We were really looking forward to it and since the weather has been a bit cooler lately we thought now would be a good time!  We woke up early on Tuesday morning and headed downtown with Marvin to 8:00 court so we could be at the zoo when the gates opened!
Mommy and MG at the zoo.
Daddy and MG posing on the warthog!
We had to ride the carousel!  She loved it.
And we went to the petting zoo!  MG wanted to pull the goats hair instead of petting!!!
At the elephant habitat!
My two monkeys:)
Underground with the gophers!
Daddy and MG looking at the animals.
We had to stop for graham crackers!
Boy, was she happy after her snack!
One tired little monkey!
What a great day!  Mary Grayson loved seeing all the animals!  She was asleep before we made it back to our car! We know she may never remember her first trip to the zoo, but we will and we'll cherish it forever!!!

2 months 'til ONE!

That's right...our little bundle of joy celebrated her 10 month birthday yesterday!  Time has flown so fast that I even forgot to take her picture before MDO yesterday morning...so Daddy picked up the slack and snapped a few pics of her yesterday evening after I left for work!  MG was a little cranky all day yesterday and has been battling a runny nose for the past few days...so a smile was hard to come by yesterday!
Fingers in her mouth...where are her teeth??

10 month highlights:
-wearing 9-12 mo clothes
-size 3 diapers (MG is 21.5 lbs!)
-STILL NO TEETH!!!!
-crawling very very fast EVERYWHERE!
-pulling up on everything...she will stand by herself but will not take a step
-loves mac and cheese, grilled cheese and pudding
-likes to shake and bang all of her toys together
-has started to enjoy DVDs (Praise Baby and Elmo2 are her favorites right now!)
-takes a morning and night time bottle and milk/juice in a sippy cup during the day
-USUALLY takes 2 naps (each about 2 hours)

You are the love of our life Mary Grayson and we are excited everyday to see you become the woman God wants you to be!  We love you to the moon and back!

No More Curls!

As the title suggests...Mary Grayson got her FIRST haircut yesterday! After much deliberation I decided it was time for the uneven ends and fly-aways to go!  After a long morning nap we went to Snip-Its at The Woodlands Mall for a much needed new "do"!  Trying to get out of the house with a baby on my hip, my purse, MG's diaper bag, the video camera, snacks and a bottle for the drive, and my cell phone...I forgot my real camera!  So my handy Iphone had to capture the moment.  Here is a before shot...
Enjoying an animal cracker. Doing so good!
And then came the melt down...

I had never heard the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" sung that way...but whatever...she stopped crying!  She wasn't too sure about a comb being used on her hair because I always use a baby brush and she really didn't care for the squirt bottle approach to getting her hair wet...we prefer using a cup in the bathtub!  Overall I think she did great for her first time and I can only hope each haircut will get better!   As for now, we love our little bob! She even got a prize from the barber...a slinky!! She loved it!  Then we went to the food court for a sugar cookie! Here are a few after shots...
Eating her sugar cookie!
Sporting her new little bob...so tired and ready for a nap!
No more curls!!!
